Look and feel

The design was to look professional, clean and appealing to both commercial and industrial customers. Simple and unique to stand out from the competition.

The approach

Firstly, we looked at images of gas kitchen appliances, gas pipelines, gas bottles to get an idea of the colours and shapes that are indicative to LPG and natural gas supply types. These visuals were turned into a mood board to present to the client to show the design direction we were thinking of taking.

Design process

A number of design concepts were explored to represent gas pipeline installation and servicing the South East Queensland area.

Typeface

A relaxed bold typeface was chosen to complement the gas flame. Cocon is a display sans serif font with similar rounded characteristics and ends that taper to a point to convey movement and flow.

Colour palette

When you look at a gas flame the colours blue, purple and orange are present. These three colours were used in a gradient to emphasise the flame effect in the logo.

Deliverables

The team developed brand guidelines to show how the brand will be executed across the following materials:

• website
• social media
• printed material

The results

We noticed in the two words Gas Services that two s’s sat side by side which was utilised to create a gas flame. Gas Services was underlined to form the gas supply line. The clients loved this concept because it was unique and stood out from their competition.
